Field of application are mainly the lighting of wide areas and producing speculars. Shape of the specular is rectangled/squared with very clear centre. Shadow is concise with a very small shadow edge transfer. Objects colors appear very clear and a bit emphasized, surface appearance will be brought out extremely. MaxiNorm Ø 180 mm Suits for general purpose photography and produces a hard light with a small lighting angle. The shape of the specular is round/oval with a noticable centre. The shadow is clearly shown and has a small shadow edge transfer. The colors of the objects are very clear without any overaccentuation, the surface appearance will be brought out very clearly. This characteristic will be shown even in a short distance usage. MaxiSun Ø 240 mm This Reflector produces a very intensive light with a slight HotSpot. Very good as a head- or effectlight and for brilliant, technical photography. Specular shape is round/oval with a noticable centre. The shadow is slightly smaller but also clearly shown, the shadow edge transfer is a bit wider. Objects colors are the same like MaxiNorm. The effect of cascading shadows will be reduced by choosing a greater distance between object and light unit. MaxiSun Ø 240 mm with FlashSoftScrim The FlashSoftScrim modifies the lighting characteristic of the reflector it is used with dramatically: shadows appear lighter but still deep and well defined. The shadow edge transfer tends to be smoother, a bit more wider. Hint: On shiny surfaces, the specular looks much more homogeneous and therefore it often improves the photographs quality (mainly when used for shooting product photographs). MaxiBeauty Ø 500 mm with FlashSoftScrim The FlashSoftScrim modifies the lighting characteristic of the reflector it is used with dramatically: shadows appear lighter but still deep and well defined. The shadow edge transfer tends to be smoother, a bit more wider. Hint: The central vignetting of the deflector (which can be seen in the specular reflection) appears much less obvious, this kind of reflection is preferred by a lot of photographers! The FlashSoftScrim will be delivered without a reflector. Varying distance between reflector and background allows to control the gradient´s nuances. (Colour-)Gels can be used to modifiy lighting quality and characteristic. MaxiSoft 30 x 30 cm Mainly used for small objects up to the size of 40 cm; produces - used within the same distance - a softer light than the metal reflectors with a smaller shadow and a wider shadow edge transfer. Shape of the specular is reactangle/square with slightly noticeable centre. Within limits usable for Portrait and the lighting of wider areas. Produces then a relatively hard light with hard shadows.
